Carolyn Schorr

Carolyn Schorr’s experience includes sales and offering management in IBM’s Application Management Services (AMS) organization. As a Solution Manager, she was responsible for defining and shaping solutions for large outsourcing deals. As a Global Offering Manager for AMS, Ms. Schorr was responsible for setting service line strategy, defining new offerings and supporting the sales and delivery of existing offerings. She participated in the development of IBM’s Application Portfolio Management offering and was responsible for the successful launch of an IT Vendor Management service.

Ms. Schorr’s IBM consulting experience includes managing engagements with national and international clients across multiple industries to re-engineer their software development processes. Her clients have included firms in the financial services, entertainment, insurance, healthcare, transportation, and utility industries, as well as a variety of public sector organizations. Using the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM/CMMI), she helped clients improve their effectiveness through assessing their current environments; identifying opportunities for quality and productivity improvements; developing plans to institute change; and facilitating the transformation process.

As a member of an international team, Ms. Schorr authored key components of IBM's project management method that is being used across the enterprise.

Ms. Schorr is a strong facilitator, skilled in team building and reaching consensus across disparate groups. She has successfully facilitated sessions to identify organizational strategies, develop information system plans, define system requirements, and develop marketing plans.

Carolyn is a proven leader -- broadly respected for immediate problem solving and for the creation and development of solutions for the long term.

Ms. Schorr has led a number of strategic business planning studies for a variety of public and private sector clients. Working with teams of client executives, the studies have resulted in the definition of information systems and supporting architectures which align with the strategic goals and objectives of the business.

Ms. Schorr’ recent experience includes program management at United Airlines Maintenance Division. As the primary liaison between the business and IT, Ms. Schorr was responsible for instituting new governance processes and justifying new opportunities for IT within the division. She was also responsible for defining an IT strategy and roadmap for the division.
